SHORT FILMS


Only 7 weeks to go until screenings for the festival begin!


Despite the film industry being affected by the pandemic, preparations for the festival are well underway and we have managed to secure several feature films to be screened in their Australian premiere. As we are already in February, we are pleased to already release the names of the short films.




Fibonacci

CZ / 2020 / Director: Tomáš Hubáček

Festivals & Awards: RIIFF winner 2021 (Best Experimental),

WiLDDOGS 2021 2nd Award, Dance Film Festival Prague 2021 special mention.


An environmental dance film or audio-visual meditation on Fibonacci patterns featuring a human flock flowing through wavy fields.



Old Gramophone’s Ghostly Tones/ Hrůza v tónu gramofonu

CZ / 2021 / Directors: Kryštof Ulbert, Martina Tomková, Zuzana Čupová.

Festivals: Zlín Film Festival, AniFilm 2021.


Two clumsy burglars break into an abandoned house and stumble across a gramophone, releasing a bunch of ghosts from inside.



Sami

SK / 2020 / Director: Ondrej Hraška

Festivals & Awards: GSA BAFTA 2021 shortlist


An exploration of familial dynamics within three generations. A young father plans a weekend at the lake for his mother and son. His shortcomings and immaturity as a father are revealed.


Donna Bella

SK / 2020 / Director: Virág Emma Csuport

Festivals: LINOLEUM Animation Festival 2021, Fest Anča 2021


She feels dirty. Bella wakes up, showers, shaves her legs and looks at her tired and ageing face in the mirror. You can wash clothes to get rid of the physical dirt, but you cannot do the same with your souls. Or can you?
