About us
Founded by a trio of movie lovers, IKSIMA Films is a Sydney based not for profit company established in 2014 specifically with the aim of creating and hosting a Czech & Slovak Film Festival for Sydney film audiences. Since October 2014, the festival has now been held every year and showcases a large offering of new releases and past classics, documentaries and shorts from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is accompanied by complimentary exhibitions and events including guests and free film showcases at the UTS or AFTRS. Since launching the festival, due to its success and popularity it has expanded to Perth with plans for more cities to follow. IKSIMA proudly assisted in helping to establish the festival on the West coast.
We are a dedicated group of volunteers who delight in introducing the rich world of Czech and Slovak cinema to Australian audiences.
